MY MISSION

"I had been missing Germany's baked goods for so long: crispy rolls, proper pretzels, fresh raisin bread and delicious traditional Christmas cookies!

It was time to bring this piece of Germany to Boston, and so SweetMandel Bakery was born. I bake the old-fashioned way, using natural and wholesome ingredients only.

And of course "frisch auf den Tisch" (fresh to the table)! My rolls and pretzels are always baked fresh on the day of delivery."

The Business

SweetMandel Bakery is a home-based bakery business in Newton, MA.

Owner Katharina Elbert grew up in Germany, came to the Boston area in 1998 and lives in Newton, MA with her family.

After having baked for friends and family for decades, she started this bakery business specializing in traditional German baked goods in 2009.
